Sweet Jenn: A Living Exhibit

 

Sweet Jenn: A Living Exhibit takes us back in time to the antebellum south just after Emancipation, We meet Jenny Butler, a slave who opens the window to her life and shares a piece of her soul with us, she is doing her best to go on with life while she awaits the return of her love, Charles, and her lost children. Sweet Jenn is a poignant story of love, heartache, triumph and hope.

 

 

 

 

Introducing Lakeetha Blakeney :

Lakeetha Blakeney is an actress, director, and playwright in the Charlotte area. She received her BA in Acting from UNC Greensboro and her MA in English Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. Lakeetha has worked with theatre companies all over the United States and internationally. Most recently she was a member of the Resident Touring Company of the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte and is the Current Theatre Arts Director at Lake Norman High School. She is also touring her original work Sweet Jenn A Living Exhibit:  Narrative of a Female Slave.
